Changing defaults on Samsung Galaxy s5

On my phone, when I wanted to open a file, say a picture or video, it would ask which app I wanted to open it with, and it used to have the option to say if I wanted to use that app every time I opened that type of file, or if I only wanted to use it that once. After my phone recently updated though, when I choose to open a file with a certain app, it automatically becomes the default app, and if I want to use a different app, I need to go into settings and reset the default apps settings. Is there some way I can have my phone ask me every time I open a file what app I want to use?
